Thursday, March 11 12 Noon & 7:30 PM

Brother and sister Enrique and Rosa flee persecution at home in
Guatemala and journey north, through Mexico and on to the United States,
with the dream of starting a new life. It's a story that happens every day, but
until Gregory Nava's groundbreaking "El Norte", the personal travails of
immigrants crossing the border to North America had never been shown in
the movies with such urgent humanism. A work of social realism imbued with
dreamlike imagery, "El Norte" is a lovingly rendered, heartbreaking story of
hope and survival, that critic Roger Ebert called " a Grapes of Wrath for our
time". 140 minutes
Movie will start at 6:30 pm (ending by 9:00 pm). Pizza will be
provided during the film and discussion will follow , led by Ismael
Santiago. Come!!!
March Mid-Winter Movie
Join us on Saturday, March 13th for an epic film "El Norte"

Lenten Lunch Bible Study exploring “Jonah”
We will read an entire book of the Bible during Lent! No worry - it is only 4
chapters long. Jonah was a reluctant prophet, but really, would you be
excited about bringing news of destruction? Bring a sack lunch and join
with others as we fellowship together and explore the story of Jonah. Each
Tuesday during Lent (Tuesday February 23—Tuesday March 30) we
will gather in the Kitchen from noon to 1pm. Bring a Bible. Come one
week or as many as you can. Please speak to Amy for more information.
If you are unable to make it in person, but are on Facebook, you can join in
the study online.

Good Friday Event
Friday April 2, 9AM-Noon — A family-friendly event for children of all ages
including crafts, games, and even an Easter Egg Hunt. All children are
welcome. Please spread the word to neighbors, grandchildren, and friends.

Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter
Palm Sunday is March 28th. We will celebrate the
entry of Jesus into Jerusalem with the traditional procession
of palms by the children and choir, which leads us into Holy
Week.
Maundy Thursday service will be held at 7:30 in the
sanctuary on April 1st. This is one of the most beautiful
and meaningful of the church as the Chancel Choir and
soloists will sing, the Gospel stories of the Passion will be
read, the Lord’s Supper will be served, and there will be the
extinguishing of the candles remembering the crucifixion of
Jesus. And we leave with hope, as we light the Christ
candle in silence knowing that resurrection is now, for Christ
is risen.
Good Friday, the sanctuary will be open for
silence, prayer, meditation and contemplation from
Noon until 3:00 pm.
Our Easter Celebration is on April 4th with worship
at 9:30 am. The service will be filled with beautiful music of
the Chancel Choir, soloists, musicians, hymns faith and joy,
an invitation to sing the Alleluia Chorus, and the
proclamation of the Good News that “Christ is risen; he is
risen, indeed!” What a wonderful time to join together in
thanksgiving to God who brings us through the darkest
days of our lives into the sunrise of new life. Invite a friend,
co-worker or neighbor to worship with you.
