At First Baptist Church, we are committed to life-long learning. We
provide a variety of learning opportunities for adults, during the
11:00 a.m. education hour on Sundays and throughout the week.

Adult Education
Sundays at 11
Sunday February 7th and 11th: Rev David Roones continues
the series on "Baptist Identity"
February 7 will cover Church Freedom, or the autonomy of the local
church. Class 2 will also begin Religious Freedom, focusing on the
struggle to separate Church and State in Connecticut.
February 14th will conclude our study of the Baptist contributions to
Religious Freedom
February 21 Essayist, Poet. Lecturer and Lawyer David K. Leff
explores wonders hidden in plain sight. His first book "The Last
Undiscovered Place" visited the Collinsville neighborhood where he
lives. It was honored as a CT Book Award finalist. His new work is
titled "Deep Travel in Thoreau's Wake on the Concord and
Merrimack." Join us for a stimulating discussion of "deep travel".
See www.davidleff.
Sunday, February 28 "The Spirituality of Imperfection: Storytelling
and the Search for Meaning" by Dr Ernest Kurtz and Katherine
Ketcham. A much loved classic gathers stories from ancient
traditions that illustrate how people grow spiritually by facing their
imperfect human nature. Explores wisdom of the twelve step
program. Discussion will be led by Jon and Susan Olson.
Adult Ed is not scheduling Second Hour in March
Everyone is encouraged to go to the after-church brunches March 7, 14, and 21.
