WELCOME TO FBC
First Baptist Church of West Hartford
Dedicated to bringing Christian Faith and Life together through Worship, Outreach, Education and a Caring Community
|
We are glad you have decided to explore our website. Browse through it
and we will give you an introduction to our community of faith.
We are a Christian community that welcomes all who are seeking to explore
their spiritual lives. In Jesus Christ and his teachings we find the love of
God revealed, and we have decided to follow him.
We seek to live by the moral and ethical principles taught by Jesus as
revealed in scripture, submitting ourselves to God, who is the ultimate
judge of our thoughts and actions. We celebrate our calling as stewards of
the Earth, God’s planet, our home, and we strive for social justice within
human relationships.
We welcome you to visit with us, worship with us, learn and grow with us,
and serve the world with us.

First Baptist Memories
We are asking members and friends to contribute some of their favorite
memories to the First Baptist Library.
Dick Pierce has written a history of the last 150 years for the 150th
Anniversary Booklet. You too can help write the history of First Baptist by
submitting some of your favorite memories. It may be a memory of a
Sunday School teacher, a minister, an associate or interim minister, a
sermon, a musical program or soloist, a wedding, a memorial service, a
mission program, a lay person who has done a lot for our church, our
building, a little known part of church history, etc, or you may want to add to
something you read in the 150th Anniversary Booklet.
The purpose of this project is to preserve memories that would otherwise
be lost and to make these memories available for the enjoyment of others.
Good pictures are also welcome.
Complete this FBC Memories Form and email it to whfbc@yahoo.com. In
lieu of using the computer you may obtain a form from the Church office.
Questions??? Contact a member of the 150th Anniversary Historical
Committee: Carol Wylie, Olive Dickinson, Faith Geist, Sonja Davis, Dick
Pierce or Les Martin.

Porch Potlucks
Wednesdays July 8, 15, 22 and 29
6:30 to around 8:00.
The evenings are held at the Carr home, 10
Hawthorne Road and are for everyone: young,
old and everyone in-between. Children are
invited to bring riding toys and other things to
play with as we will have the back parking lot
blocked off.
Bring a dish to share; hamburgers, hot dogs,
veggie burgers and other goodies will come from
the grill along with drinks. Please bring two
dollars ($2.00) per person to help defray costs
of the grilled items and drinks.
Come and spend leisurely evenings in
conversation with long-time friends and meet
some new ones. Invite a friend or two. Please
see Tom Carr if you have any questions.
A beautiful, sacred place. God will be present as we gather to worship, we hope you will be present, as well!
Dress is casual In case of inclement weather, we will be in the Sanctuary or Fellowship Hall
